Dali and Film exhibit at MoMA NYC

Dal: Painting and Film ExhibitMoMA 2008With two daughters living in New York and as avid collectors of art it is not difficult to understand our attraction to the Big Apple.

Yet this month Jerry and I enjoyed one of the best times ever in New York since MoMA was having a Dali show of film and art ...this is the last stop for this exhibit which is sponsored by the Tate Modern and has been on view in London, LA and St. Petersburg, FL.

Dali was one of the first surrealists to appreciate the medium of film as a means of displaying his artistic talents and to express his pleasure in the surreal.   Dali was perhaps the first Superstar.  Andy Warhol is accredited with creating the term and is also an artist who is a superstar himself who was a follower of Dali.  His work with Dali is also part of this Dali show.

We could have spent the weekend at MoMA, but we did have dinner plans with friends in Brooklyn and eventually had to leave.  We dined at the River Cafe in Brooklyn and were able to enjoy the waterfall "sculptures" that are placed strategically around Manhattan and are breathtaking under the Brooklyn Bridge.   We  had a wonderful time, a perfect  view and a dinner to remember.
