The Coppertone Girl is Miami's First Historic Sign Landmark

Miami's Coppertone girl came home on December 2nd to 7300 Biscayne Blvd. The installation and unveiling party went off without a hitch with many of Miami's important citizens present. Stanley Barshay, the chairman of Schering-Plough's Consumer Health Care Division and the Mayor of Miami, Manny Diaz posed with Brenda and I. Then we posed with the Blotnicks who own Tropical Signs where the Coppertone sign was meticulously restored. And of course, there we are, Brenda and Jerry Bengis posing with the plaque designating Miami's first ever Historical Landmark sign. And then there's Brenda with Fran Rollason the president of the MIMO district and a major force behind the whole preservation of the sign.
